Paddlebots is a 7-piece outfit based in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Their unique blend of soul, funk, jazz, and pop sensibilities can be defined simply as “Progressive Soul-Pop”. The soaring solos, tight rhythm and bass, and punctuating horn stabs that define their music is brought to its highest level in their electric live performances.

Paddlebots was born out of a partnership between Kortez Buckner and Haruki Hakoyama – two remarkably different individuals who came together through a shared love and vision for music. Haruki’s upbringing in the world of Jazz and the gospel/pop/soul influences that made up the soundtrack of Kortez’s life have coalesced into a sound that brings the best of these sensibilities together. The additions of Ethan O’Brien, Andy Wade, Dominic Bierenga, Mike Olney, and Zakariya Sadir rounded out both the group and their sound into a high-energy, endlessly groovy package of musical expression.

Fresh off the release of their debut album, “Mouth Full of Dirt” in April of 2017, Paddlebots is currently busy touring and spreading their music and passion with their dedicated fanbase and new audiences everywhere.
