We have been keeping tabs on guitar virtuoso Marcus Rezak for more than a decade, as he collaborated with members of Frank Zappa’s band, and friends in Umphrey’s McGee. Now, Marcus has dropped his debut album, “Gateway to the Galaxy”, and the tour stops at The Livery on Friday, May 10th, featuring members of Digital Tape Machine!

Marcus Rezak is a recording artist, touring musician, session guitarist, and music theorist. His debut album, “Gateway To The Galaxy,” is hot off the press and features musical luminaries such as Bill Evans (sax, Miles Davis), Arthur Barrow (bass, Frank Zappa), Kris Myers (drums, Umphrey’s McGee) and Joel Cummins (keys, Umphrey’s McGee).

Rezak is the Lead guitarist and original member of Chicago-based, electronic super-group, Digital Tape Machine which features members of Umphreys McGee as well. Marcus’ diversity in musical styles has earned him renown as a masterful jazz improviser and the “art of the sit in.”

As a session guitarist, Rezak has collaborated with a vast array of musicians including members of Frank Zappa, David Bowie, Umphrey’s McGee, Jerry Garcia Band, Melvin Seals, The Motet, Dopapod, Primus, Ratdog, The Disco Biscuits, SCI, Lotus, STS9, Lettuce, Garaj Mahal, Robert Walters 20th Congress, Circles Around The Sun, The Aristocrats, Steve Vai, Megadeth, Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, and more. Marcus also focuses heavily on remote and live studio guitar tracking, editing, and mixing sessions when not on tour.
