Coming in hot off of a Blue Ox Music Festival performance, Grassfed is a quick-picking string band. Pivoting on the foundation of bluegrass, Grassfed entwines tradition with an eclectic array of influences. Forged by songwriters and driven by instrumental conversation, the band brings a punching sound all its own.

Based out of Kansas City, Grassfed tours nationally across the United States, and has performed internationally in Scotland, and France. Combining genuine lyrics and shredding instrumentals, Grassfed is a must see live experience.

The Pinola Plowboys’, features Peter Nye Music on guitar, Dan Moser on upright bass, and Doug Tyler on Banjo. Tight, three-part harmonies are a main highlight of their performance which also features storytelling, fun jokes, and bluegrass standards.

Peter Nye is a veteran performer with more than 30 years of experience playing and singing with his guitar. His musical journey started at the age of 13, where he performed at local honky-tonks around Chicago. Peter eventually involved himself in the Chicago folk music scene, during the 70’s and performed at various clubs around the city. In the 1980’s, he showcased in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the famous, Cain’s Ballroom. Returning to Chicago he became an instrumental part of the Chicago Bluegrass Band. Peter has shared stages with Waylon Jennings, Loretta Lynn, George Strait, Emmy Lou Harris, Bill Monroe, Ray Price, Doc Watson, Norman Blake, Jethro Burns, Dan Crary, David Grisman and Tony Rice.
