Hailing from Boston MA, Carissa Johnson has been picking up traction since she hopped on stage in 2009. Starting out as the bassist/background vocalist for multiple groups, she found her way to the front of the stage, now leading her own band, and playing solo. Influenced by the new wave scene of the 1970’s and the grunge anthems of the 1990’s, she blends both punk and power pop with meaningful words. She is on tour behind her latest release, “For Now,” which some critics have called “a rockin’ declaration of independence, with sharp lyrics and a completely satisfying hard rock post punk feel.
