Making “Lay These Weapons Down” has helped us heal and start to trust ourselves in new
ways. We hope it does the same for you.
Rebecca Rego began the songs on “Lay These Weapons Down” in the middle of a time when
she lost trust in so many parts of her personal life. The paradox of that is through arranging and
writing these songs with the Trainmen (Eric Fitts, Matt Yeats) and 13 other close musician
friends a new freedom was found and something beautiful was created.
LTWD was recorded and mixed in both Champaign, IL,where the band is based, and San
Francisco California at Tiny Telephone with engineers and producers James Treichler and Beau
Sorenson (Death Cab, Field Report, Thao & The Get Down Stay Down). The record features
over different 13 musicians on horns, strings, guitar, and piano. Many of the songs Horn
arrangements were written and performed by principal NOBS! Brass bass trombone player
Reginald Chapman.
Trust and letting go can be revolutionary
